RDA Riverina Development Officers Forum

On the 12th March 2015, RDA Riverina hosted the first Development Officers Forum for 2015. Twenty three people attended the Forum held in Temora at the Town Hall Theatre.  For more information on the presentations please see below.

Presenters for the day included: 

The day started with RDA Riverina CEO Lani Houston providing an update on the changes with RDA Riverina and the future direction of the organisation. To view Lani's presentation please ClickHere .

Kim Houghton, Director, Strategic Economic Solutions presentation was titled "Modelling the local impact of Megatrends". Kim spoke on the impacts of environmental, political and international factors on regional communities. To view a copy of Kim's presentation to the Forum please ClickHere .

Jack Archer, Deputy CEO of the Regional Australia Institute spoke to the Forum about the Economic outlook and regional competitiveness in the Riverina. To view Jack's presentation please ClickHere .

Wayne Murphy, Export Adviser/NSW Trade and Investment and Trade Start Adviser/Austrade provided the Forum with an update on Trade and Export and information on the Free Trade Agreements with Korea, Japan and China. To view Wayne's presentation please ClickHere .

Andrew Grant, General Manager, Goldenfields Water County Council brought along examples of new sensors that are being developed by Goldenfields for use in their newly established Goldenfields Water Regional Data Acquisition Network and explained current and future uses of the network. Dr Nick Rose, Project Coordinator, Food Systems, Food Alliance, Deakin University was on hand to provide an overview of his work. www.foodalliance.org.au is working with local governments and other public and private food systems stakeholders to establish a National Food Network.
